The Municipality of San Fernando honored the Day of the Police of the Province of Buenos Aires and awarded a hundred diplomas to agents and officers serving in the district, during an event attended by municipal, provincial, and police authorities.

The local Executive branch emphasized daily coordination with the Buenos Aires Provincial Police and presented the recognition as institutional backing for the personnel working on prevention and response tasks in the San Fernando district.

The Secretary of Citizen Protection, Néstor Pisetta, stated that the Municipality works “jointly every day” with the Province and highlighted local investment in security so that “neighbors can live peacefully,” signaling a political continuity of the municipal support scheme for the police structure.

In turn, the Undersecretary of AMBA Police Oversight and Control, Andrés Escudero, affirmed that the date serves to evaluate what has been done and improve planning, and to recognize the injured and fallen in the line of duty, in addition to strengthening “the police family” in the face of upcoming challenges.

According to what the Argentine News Agency learned, San Fernando linked the recognition to its policy of applied technology: it stated that it invested one billion pesos in incorporating Artificial Intelligence into the Operations Monitoring Center to accelerate crime detection and response.

The municipality also listed the tools of the local system: municipal patrols, police posts, panic buttons, smart totems, license plate readers, two decentralized prosecutor's offices, and 1,660 cameras (an average of “one for every 104 inhabitants,” according to the municipality), as part of the coordination scheme with the Province.
